Home is an animated feature, the story of an alien "Boov", named "Oh" voiced by Jim Parsons. Oh is on the run from his own race and Earth seems like the best place to hide who would look for him there as his race plans to destroy it. In hiding, Oh meets a young inner-city girl Tip, voiced by Rihanna who is looking for her mother (Jennifer Lopez), the two decide to help each other, and so the adventure begins. 'Home' took home, no pun intended, over $54 million dollars this weekend. The PG-rated film topped the box-office domestically, as well as in Canada besting Kevin Hart and Will Ferrall in the raunchy R-rated prepping for prison comedy, Get Hard. Overseas, the music-laden film earned over $48.2 million for a still early worldwide total of $102.2 million.

Historically kid’s movies continuously dominate at the box-office and that is telling of how much people are desperately seeking entertainment that the entire family can enjoy. It is also awesome for the studios when they can capitalize on the large amounts of money in the market for this specific type of entertainment. But ultimately at what cost, and this is the dichotomy? Rihanna is a mega-star, a pop singing sensation, she has sold millions of records, she was also sadly, beaten by her on again, off again mega pop-star boyfriend Chris Brown. Both have promoted substantial drug and alcohol use in their music as well as sexual acts within their lyrics that could be considered lyrical pornography.

She has posed naked unintentionally, via leaked selfies, as well as intentionally for GQ magazine, and a number of other publications... As Home premiered with an early March 26th release on Thursday night, earlier the same day Rihanna debuted her new single, "Bitch Better Have My Money". I ask why pop culture stars like Rihanna are so readily the go to choice for kid’s entertainment? Is there no other option? The lyrics to Rihanna's new song are as follows...
